This year’s festival is not just a regular event; it’s a celebration of literacy and learning, including children’s book authors, live book readings, and free book giveaways. Also, the first 2,000 children attending will receive special drawstring backpacks.

Mobile County Public School System, Mobile Public Library, National Maritime Museum, Fort Conde, and Alabama Public Television will be in attendance. These partnerships highlight BGCSA’s commitment to a collaborative community effort to promote the joys of reading and the importance of educational development.

“Books have a unique way of bringing communities together, igniting imaginations, and inspiring new generations,” says Rosa Monteiro, Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama director of academic excellence.
