Secret Scientist Clothing, Blackballed Golf Inspire Youth Through Golf

Club kids from Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama were treated to a one-of-a-kind golf experience at TopGolf on Saturday, May 18. This event, a collaborative effort by the City of Mobile Parks and Recreation, Secret Scientist Clothing, and Blackballed Golf, was not just about introducing the game of golf to Club kids. It was an immersive journey where they learned from golf professionals, received exclusive golf apparel, tested their skills on the state-of-the-art driving range and putting area, competed for exciting prizes, and enjoyed a sumptuous dinner buffet.

Tony Davis, the driving force behind Secret Scientist Clothing, highlighted the event’s success in making golf more appealing and inclusive for minorities. “Golf is not just a game,” Davis stressed. “It’s a transformative experience for our youth, a pathway to self-discovery and growth. This event was a powerful testament to how golf fosters positive engagement and promotes outdoor recreation. “Through our community events, we aim to create better individuals and positive environments, “Davis says. “Golf is a sport that can help one relax, clear their mind, and reduce stress levels.”

Matt Daniels, co-founder of Blackballed Golf, didn’t think golf was cool as a kid because he didn’t see many people that looked like him. “

However, Daniels stressed that golf is inclusive and for everyone. “Our mission at Blackballed Golf is similar to Boys & Girls Clubs—the mission of giving back and helping people reach their full potential,” Davis says. “We want to show how golf can help you reach your full potential. Golf requires patience, intentionality, and hard work.”
