Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama Announces Jermaine West as Chief Executive Officer

(Mobile, AL)  Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama is proud to announce the appointment of Jermaine West as its new Chief Executive Officer. A dedicated servant leader with more than two decades of service to the organization, West brings a wealth of experience, vision, and deep community roots to the role.

West first joined Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama in 2002 as a Club Director. Over the years, he has held various leadership positions, including Area Director, Director of Teen Services, Director of Operations, and most recently, Interim Chief Executive Officer. His appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter for an organization that has been shaping the lives of young people in Mobile County since 1957.

“The investment we make in our youth is one for a better tomorrow,” said West. “When we equip them with leadership, opportunity, and support, there is no limit to what they can achieve.”

Throughout his tenure, West has championed programs that create real, lasting impact. He led the launch of the Job Ready Program, spearheaded Alabama’s first Guitars Not Guns Program, and founded the Ignite Summer Leadership Camp. Under his leadership, the organization earned five State Youth of the Year honors and achieved significant membership growth across multiple club sites. His contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Major General J. Cooper Leadership Award, Alabama Employee of the Year, Boys & Girls Clubs Full-Time Employee of the Year, the Man & Youth Award, and the Program Excellence Award.

A graduate of Tuskegee University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, West combines analytical thinking with a heartfelt commitment to youth development. He and his wife, Andria, are proud members of the Mobile community.

In his new role, West is committed to expanding opportunities for children and youth, strengthening community partnerships, and ensuring every child has access to a safe environment, caring mentors, and life-changing experiences.
